Personally I think Andrew on CBBC on One is quite good

Anyway, changing the subject for a moment, why haven't they managed to come up with a name for this new saturday morning show? It's going to be on in two months!!

There's most probably nothing good coming through. The two best names; Saturday Morning TeleVision (SM:tv) and The Saturday Show are taken. They need something quirky but good like Going Live!, Live & Kicking, SM:tv Live to some extent.

As long as the progression of the show is coming along. The only thing that would be slowed down would be the creation of titles, merchandise, promotion, etc. But it could be that they know the title , but they aren't releasing it yet. I remember when Newsround were the ones to break the news about Zoe & Jamie leaving, Steve & Emma joining, the new look Live & Kicking with Katy, Trey, Ortis & Sarah, the axing of Live & Kicking, the details about the new show, the interview with the new hosts, the news of Dani & Joe leaving and Simon and Fearne replacing them, and news that da bungalow was coming to BBC One.

So how will itv break the news? Just with a general press release?

Im sure the Saturday Show announcement came a couple of months before it launched, maybe a month. As newsround had the logo on the screen too.

It's probably going to have Saturday in the title :/

Are the votes in SMTV Gold rigged? It just seems that from the menus and promos they play, they've already decided what is going to win as they feature and the others sometimes don't or do for a very very brief second.

Still, I read an interesting article about that old show WOW that was aired around 1997 with The Noise.

SatKids - WOW

Also features bits from the two Presenters which go into the show costs and interestingly it's audience figures.

Interesting stuff that's most probably true. Childrens is hit the worst for some reason, perhaps for lack of ratings compared to others. CiTV is only just getting back on its feet following the itv digital thing.

And itv are starting to show commitment to childrens, which is a good thing that has taken a while. Infact the whole network is taking shape. But how long for?

It's a difficult time for ratings at the moment anyway because of the huge up-take of satellite television. It's unlikely any show will reach the 2.5 million audience sizes that SMTV Live was getting 4 years ago!

I just wonder what he actually offers. Does he adlib well? No. Is he funny? No. Is he being natural? No.

But he's fit as f*ck though.

Holly is excellent, don't know why they used on XChange. XChange is for the presenters that can't present.

Please tell me you don't mean that - how'd you work the one out??

In recent months Xchange has taken on several new presenters (Ortis, Steve Wilson and Sarra Elgan-Rees), I think you'll find that the quality has imporved a lot. This is because more time is now given for rehearsals (previous schedule didn't allow it), so presenters know what's happening in the programme.

Sara, Steve and Ortis are excellent presenters. But, the show's content and original presenters are unbelivably crap.

Please tell me exactly HOW the content of the show is "crap"?

Have you seen the show recently, a lot of changes (for the better) have been made since a new Editor/Exec Producer came in March.

The show is has very strong content and I absolutely anyone who thinks it isn't can't have seen the show recnetly. The production team work so hard, making ten shows a week at very fast turn-around - the quality is very high.

People are entitled to their opinions you know, just because you have an involvement in the show. Rolling Eyes

Fair enough, but when they're directly criticising something that you do and are involved in for a living, there'd be something wrong if I didn't at least try to defend the production.

However, when you know what they are saying us utter crap and unfounded (granted I am biased, but I've seen how far the show has progressed), I also have to step in and point a few things out.

I have been watching XChange recently. And it has improved and got a strong formula. They turned it into a mini old style saturday morning show, you could say its like a mini Live & Kicking; with phone ins, a phone jingle (0..9..0..double 1..nnnnniiiine hundred..FIVE HUNDRED!)
Features like dream on, XJOB, etc. Even Dave Chapman has returned twice to CBBC as Dick & Dom's Cat from Next door, and on XChange he voices a hilarious ferrit. (Q. Who makes the puppets like Otis, Tiny, the Cat & the Ferrit [all that Dave voiced/s] as they all look similar?)

Its a better format than what it was, but it gets in the way of neighbours usually. The breakfast show is what I usually watch if i'm up, as it's better than every other show on att hat time in the morning. It sort of reminds me of the big breakfast with some things they do.

It's a shame that they stopped it from its original feb 2002 morning show style as a proper breakfast show when it ran from 7am - 8:30, and had a cartoon like UBOS at 7:30. This felt like a breakfast show and felt like the effort of everyone getting up early was for more than half an hour! It could have made an interesting alternative to terrestrial. Picking up many students that were up!

If you look at the credits at the very end and see who the Editor of the show is, it'll all become clear why it's so familiar.
