I'd say something that is a mix of T4, Heat magazine and the original RI:SE would be best.
Also there'd be good music and bands performing and a presenting team along the lines of June and Vernon, Simon and Miquita.

I don't think it should be too laid back like T4, at the end of the day we are talking about saturday mornings! They should be full of energy, comedy, celebrity and barrell loads of stuff you wouldn't see anywhere else on kids' television! I want classic hangover television! Very Happy

Dick and Dom are alright but it is just all a bit samey for me. The shouting/gunging/laughing format is wearing very thin. Sad

Can we not find anyone new? Stephen Mulhern is getting on a bit and should be used to front more Ant and Dec style shows, not kiddies things, but if they had do use him they should have gotten thingy back, her that used to present CiTV with him....Danielle?

I personally would have gone for Andrew Hayden-Smith (CBBC, Byker Grove), Simon Thomas (Blue Peter) and Yiolanda who presents Nickelodeon or something along those lines.

But ITV, if you're gonna use Stephen, use Danielle as well, they don't work without each other!

You have got to be joking!

Firstly, saturday mornings are not considered to be 'kiddy' shows like 'Fingertips' or 'Art Attack'! Mad

Secondly, if Andrew Hayden-Smith was anymore wooden as a presenter he'd catch fire! Laughing Simon Thomas? Any ex-Blue Peter presenter is a definite no-no for saturday mornings...Katy Hill anyone!! Twisted Evil Finally, how can you say Stephen is getting on a bit when Yiolanda on Nick has been presenting kids' tv for about ten years and still isn't any better than when she first started! Shocked

Sorry to rant on about this but I really do not agree with your posting!! Wink

Yolly's very good. I always thought Dave Berry and Yolly would work really well together on a Saturday morning show.

It would be nice to see the inclusion of a gameshow in the new Saturday morning show, like you used to get ie. Mouse Trap, Double Dare, Run the Risk etc, rather than endless cartoons and american imports.

Watched Dick & Dom a bit yesterday, I have to say it's really puerile nonsense. Strange to see this sort of childrens TV on mainstream BBC One, especially as the majority accuse ITV of dumbing down. Laughing

That'll be why ITV were going to pay a lot of money to buy Da Bungalow to replace SMTV then! Laughing

I don't think ITV wanted the show itself, they just tried to poach Dick and Dom, as a sort of Ant and Dec replacement. That's why Da Bungalow was quickly promoted to BBC1!

Wasn't Dom at ITV for some time anyway? I am certain he presented some show, possibly Jungle Run, but I cannot fully remember.

I forgot but there was a series of Mad For It (Good God that was awful) but I remember some people from Nickelodeon did help present it, as their mate Matt McClean was presenting it. Shame he's no longer at Nick as he was good.

Arrow Micheal Underwood from CiTV Rolling Eyes Not him Again Exclamation

So RDJ, I take it you're not too keen on the chosen team for the new saturday show?

Not really Exclamation
Saturdays aren't Saturdays Without Live & Kicking Exclamation

Stephen is still younger than Ant & Dec were when they presented SM:tv; perhaps the same age as when they started to present it, but he has plenty of experience, and is a good presenter. Michael is an excellent presenter that was underused by the BBC, true he may not have fitted in with the bug era, but he is a great presenter, and he deserves the new show. Holly Willoby is a nice calm presenter that deffinately one for the dads, but is still good at her job, and not just hired on looks.

We will just have to wait to see how it goes in the new year.
I wonder if they will have a trailer for it as Live & Kicking did for the Saturday Show, though it trailed the programmes and contained a bit of the titles; or as Mashed did on their last show when they handed over to ant & dec in London.

One thing I think we can be sure of is that itv won't go down without a fight. They have seen the competition, they know that Dick & Dom and the Saturday Show have powers, they need to create something which will attract the audience, and the key element, a good presenter relationship.

Speaking of SM:tv Live. I have enjoyed watching it in the afternoons, as it means you can have a lie in, and still catch it all. And it gives me something to watch other than films, sport or home & away. Thus why I used to watch the Dick & Dom repeat in the afternoons. I am gutted that they took that away!

Holly, quite a good presenter. Wathced her on xchange today, and she held the show together as she was with mr BBC One Basketball ident.
She was a bit witty, good with the callers, gave a bit of banter, and has a calming soft voice. It will be good to see how she does in the sketches.

Holly is a VERY good presenter - she's possibly the best female presenter we have on Xchange and she'll be missed in the New Year.

HOWEVER, one annoying thing which once pointed out you can't help but notice: she always looks at the monitor above to see herself Rolling Eyes

Holly is excellent, don't know why they used on XChange. XChange is for the presenters that can't present.

I like the Nick presenters, hate the Disney Channel presenters, some CBBC presenters are good - others are not and when it comes to CiTV - yeah, i can realise that Micheal and Leah work well.

What's wrong with the disney channel presenters? Some of them get very much on my nerves, mentioning no names (M**K). But they are often great viewing, adlib well, and create a good live show, which it is.

CiTV, Michael & Leah are great presenters, especially together. With newly added elements such as Swag the Bag and Name the Monkey stuff, I would love to see more CiTV. Maybe a live Christmas Eve party with A few hours and a couple of shows, so that we have plenty of linkage time.

Nick. They're OK. They're good at what they do. Rhanni is good, Yolly... well. Aidan & Nigel are good too. Is Michelle still on You're Nicked!? How does this compare to when Rhani did it?

CBBC. Now there are great presenters on there such as Angellica, Jake, Barney, Abs, Simon and to some extent Kate. But then there are others like Gemma and Mohini, I didn't think it was possible to make a phone in game dull.

I can't believe Yiolanda is still on Nick, I remember she used to be on when I watched it, in the days when the early and best episodes of Rugrats were on at 4.30pm and then Clarissa Explains it All and later Sister Sister was on at 5pm!

In those days it was the likes of Rick Adams, Lucy Alexander, Sarah Cawood, Nigel Mitchell etc. What ever happened to Mounya anyway?

Personally I think Andrew on CBBC on One is quite good

I just wonder what he actually offers. Does he adlib well? No. Is he funny? No. Is he being natural? No. At least with other presenters like Michael, Stephen, Angellica, Fearne, Jake and Simon, they have that something special!

Anyway, changing the subject for a moment, why haven't they managed to come up with a name for this new saturday morning show? It's going to be on in two months!!
