Let's face it, now that Dick and Dom have changed the format of Saturday mornings, what does ITV have to do in order to convincingly win back the audience?

Bring back Ant Dec and Maybe Cat to present a show together.
Ant and Dec in my opinion r the only people who will win ratings back from dick and dom on bbc1. Apparantly Michelle from liberty x, and Jonothan ' Robbies mate' Wilkes are set to take over saturday mornins on itv. what do you think ov that ?

Have you read all of the above? Though it was for the sun. I was surprised Des & Mel didnt quiz him over it yesturday on the show!

BRA ad beauty Holly Willoughby has been signed up to add a bit of bounce to ITV’s new Saturday morning kids’ show.

Holly — seen above in her modelling days — will star in the replacement for SM:tv. The show starts in January, but has yet to be named.

Holly, 21, will host the show with CiTV favourites Stephen Mulhern and Michael Underwood — pictured with her below.
Brighton girl Holly was just 18 when she fondled her boobs in a racy Pretty Polly ad. She has since worked on S Club TV and CBBC at the Fame Academy.

Thats more like it. It was getting me worried with Mr. Wilkes and Michelle! God, that would have been disasterous, especially Michelle, 'Stick with signing love!'.

Well now. Is the picture a photoshoot? Stephen's hair had shrunk last saturday! Unless it was positioned funny.

Stephen is a good presenter, Michael is a great presenter. They both worked well toegether on CiTV's white Knuckle Tour 2002. As Michael replaced Stephen, we never saw them live link together, except for the preview show last bank holiday monday where stephen was a guest.

Stephen & Michael have lots of talent and could take the show onto big things, here's hoping.

Holly, quite a good presenter. Wathced her on xchange today, and she held the show together as she was with mr BBC One Basketball ident.
She was a bit witty, good with the callers, gave a bit of banter, and has a calming soft voice. It will be good to see how she does in the sketches.

Michael will no doubt be good with sketches. He's dressed up as many over the years with different accents. But one thing.

Does this mean that Michael will be leaving live links? I hope that they save him, but with all of his other shows, he may disapear. I hope he stays till christmas at least, with the christmas presents from him to leah (ala xmas 1999) being a new/two new presenters for her to play with!

I completely agree with you fanoftv! Just goes to show how on the ball the contributors of this forum are. We pretty much had the presenters identified a while ago! Wink

I have to say I'm really pleased with the choice of presenters. Admittedly, Stephen (Brilliant Creatures, Finger Tips, Globo Loco, You Can Do Magic) and Michael (Presentation, Jungle Run, Eliminator, The Big Bang)do nearly every show on CITV at the moment, but they are both really good! Hopefully, now that they have saturday mornings in the bag they will start to reduce the number of shows they have so they don't become as prolific (and annoying) as Fearne Cotton.

I wasn't sure about Holly at first but now that I think about it she is perfect for the 'lads and dads' audience (did you see the underwear shots in the Sun...wow!! Shocked Very Happy.

They've got a great team of presenters, now they have to come up with the goods. I cannot wait to see what the new show is going to be like and there is only a couple of months to go!!

I've gotta say, apart from Stephen, CITV presenters don't stick around for long do they?!

Perhaps this isn't the final lineup - maybe there's a fourth presenter? Michael Underwood and Steven Mulhern presenting yet another show may become very tedious soon.

Please no! Not another four lineup. I could understand Brian, Tess, H & Claire as H & Claire came together. And Live & Kicking 2000's Katy Hill, Trey Farley, Ortis & Sarah Cawood, as Sarah presented mainly on the roof doing sacrifice your family/friends until they moved to scotland.

I'm not sure why they bought Des & Shavaughan into SM:tv. I'm sure with more convincing Brain & Tess would have stayed to the end.

It would be nice if they could do something with Des. I have a feeling that with Michael going to do the new show, they may move Des onto CiTV for live links along with Leah. if not it would be nice for the new show to give him a job as an OB, perhaps do OB's a bit like on the Big Breakfast.

As already suggested. They may tone down Stephen & Michael a bit, just as Fearne Cotton has since doing the saturday show. Its good to see that Stephen's throughly stayed with CiTV.

Shelf life of CiTV presenters. Stephen and Danniellejpined in may 1998, they presented as a duo, unless one was on holiday in which they were joined by guests presenters like ben & vanessa from the top 10 of everything. Tom & Andrea were unwrapped as christmas new presenter presents on christmas eve 1999, ready for the new set in 2000. Andrea left in early 2001 with Dannielle leaving along with Tom in late 2001, they just vanished shortly after introducing the new presenters David, Leigh & Leah in sept 2001. It wasn't until a website note in early 2002 that it was confirmed that they had left, though there was a rough giveaway as the christmas titles featured leigh, leah, david & stephen only. Stephen left around easter 2002. Michael joined around autumn, with Leigh & David leaving just before christmas 2002, and were the first to have a compilation of clips shown of them. Leah & Michael continued through Christmas with Tim joining them from the 20th anniversery on january 3rd. Time left in june after a 6 month contract. Michael & Leah have continued as a duo, recently mainly presenting solo, and Michael could be leaving soon. Though he & Stephen are sticking with CiTV officially with programmes. If you count sticking with CiTV presentation and programmes, then Stephen has been there longest from 1998 - 2003.

It will be interesting to see what sort of show this turns out to be. Will it be an SM:tv with solely sketches and competitions. Or more a Live & Kicking with entertainment magazine slots, ob's, audience games, and guest chats. A dick & dom/tiswas, where everything would just be mad, or a mixture of many. Or something different but good.

Ah yeah, I remember all that. It was Stephen and Dannielle who first attracted me to CiTV, as they were an excellent partnership. Somehow it hasn't been like that on CiTV since then, too many chopping and changing as the bosses tried to recreate their partnership.

I can see this new show being under a lot of pressure - I just hope ITV don't panic like they do nowadays, and axe it. (But then again the BBC did this with the last L&K and it proved to be the right decision.

I dont know. Michael & Leah are a great partnership, when given time. Such as on friday afternoons and the autumn preview show. Leah may be a bit ditzy, but they are a good partnership.

I remember at one point in late 1998, when during an episode of a programme, they mistakenly cut back to the studio with the programme being shown on the studio monitor with Stephen telling Dannielle what he did last night, and then Dannielle saying, well shouting "Oh No!" In reply to what Stephen was saying, shortly before the prog continued playing.

I reckon they need to leave the Dick & Dom format well alone! Let's face it, by the end of year it will start to feel really tired and some would argue it already is!

I don't think they need to reinvent saturday mornings, they just have to freshen it up. SMTV Live was great back in the 'good ol' days' but people have to let it rest in peace now.

There will be a lot of pressure on ITV to make this work but I really think they have a good chance. By putting Dick & Dom on the BBC have made things a lot easier.

Until the Saturday Show returns that is. I wonder if they may return the saturday show early if dick & dom starts to get lower ratings against the new show.

Hopefully they will go for a normal type saturday morning show on itv1, with guests, bands, music, cartoons, sketches, audience, etc; more with a twist, like the saturday show 2001 started with the audience seated in pods in a tier.

I have to say I was never a fan of the 'pods', they seemed too restrictive for the audience and acted like a barrier...perhaps protecting them from being eaten by Dani Behr! Laughing

One thing I am curious about is what programmes they will acquire for the show. They need something new and not a load of two-bit repeats of programmes noone really wants to see.
