Is it just me whose noticed a change to the style of the show in this latest series. Perhaps due to Bill's absence/departure the banter between Simon & Phill has become more noticeable. Also there seems to be more time spent focuses on the guests, albeit often leading to the usual p*** take.

The different guest captains has been interesting so far. Stephen Fry was a bit of a surprise, particularly knowing his music skills from the days of Whose Line.

This week's show ended on a (pretending to be) desperate for ratings 'cliffhanger' involving Phill, and Simon talking over the credits with a "tune in next week".

The discourse and structure of the script/programme format has changed for sure. Another thing I note is apart from the guest team captains, the guests are of a lot lower profile than previous series.

I am struggling to find this programme amusing this series I'm afraid. Especially to the past two or three series which have been superb.

I dunno about anyone else but I nearly wet myself laughing in the Kelly Rowland episode.

I couldn't finish the Rowland episode. She just didn't get anything that was put in her direction and clearly didn't want to be there. It didn't make for enjoyable television in my book.

That's interesting, because I thoroughly enjoyed the episode for those reasons! Embarassed It was Simon's responses to Kelly that made the episode humorous in my view; the more she didn't get what was happening, the more Simon ripped the proverbial out of her-- serves her right for being awkward.

I note that Simon (and Phil to an extent) have made it a running joke, about their difficulty in getting 'decent' guests-- wise idea poking fun at yourself before somebody else does.

I'm assuming this current series is filmed within the past week or so as this week they're taking the p*** about complaints (by a certain paper) of offensive content by going 'family friendly', for the start at least. I'm not sure about Simon wearing the bunny rabbit costume though.

It wasn't initially filmed in the week of tranmission, but last week's episode was supposed to feature Russell Brand and was dropped, and they brought forward the James Corden episode that was supposed on be on this week. So they're now filming them a few days before they go out, which I don't think they've ever done before - in recent series it's been about six weeks before transmission but this series seems to have started being filmed about ten days in advance. Bit of a mistake to change it, given the circumstances.

Surprised no-one's mentioned that the BBC1 Balloon got a mention on this week's show. 17.50

Some amusing footage of Simon Amstell as a precocious little sh*t on Gamesmaster...

I wonder when/if the Russell Brand episode will be shown? Given that Ross has been suspended for 3 months and all his shows are off air it'd be a bit rich to put the Brand episode out now, even though he's resigned and apologised. Perhaps it'll sneak out during a repeat run next year? Would be a shame not to show it at all.

Well Brand no longer wants to work with the BBC so perhaps it won't.

Well can you honestly blame him? Would you want to work for an organisation that bows to the pressures of one ridiculous newspaper and their loony editors?

The vast majority of the British public didn't care, and still don't care. The Mail wanted to make us feel like we should care - and to be angry at the BBC. Well they succeeded, didn't they!
