Millionaire To Mastermind - Channel 5

Probably a silly question, but is this a renamed repeat? I don’t remember seeing anything on previously about game shows but it likely is a repeat. Nice to see old footage not cropped and some behind the scenes shots from some of the big main shows over the years.

Well it was in the printed TV guides as "Britains Greatest Gameshows" and got to the EPG as "Millionaire to Mastermind: Britain's Greatest Quiz Shows", so C5 up to their usual tricks I think.

Well it’s working. I’ve ended up watching it instead of going to bed. But yes it seems like another Channel 5 sneaky programme edit.

Exactly the reason why C5 time and time again keep on renaming programmes and pretending it's something 'new' to hook in unsuspecting viewers.

As soon as I saw the name 'Millionaire to Mastermind' on the EPG, alarm bells were ringing with me, and I instantly thought this is piggybacking on 'Quiz' being shown on the other side.

That's all C5 seem to do now - piggy back on other channels success stories. They've got the Graham Norton retrospective on again this Friday I think.

I caught the part where they spoke about Millionaire and they did not talk about the show at all, they just got the various talkig heads to recount the Charles Ingram story using various YouTube clips and the Tonight: Major Fraud show from 2003 which showed some of Ingram's appearance and the moment where Chris Tarrant congratulated him on his "UNBELIEVABLE" £1,000,000 win.

It's called marketing.
