Whilst UK Millionaire reduces the number of questions, Aussie Millionaire goes in the opposite direction. In theory, a contestant could lose up to $968,000 if all goes wrong. It seems wrong to add more questions. What's your thoughs?

Well, it seems they've only added the $5m question - which is effectively a bonus question. It still takes just 15 to reach the $1m mark.

What's the fourth lifeline?

Notice a few mistakes in the French subtitles on that video? They wrongly put the €uro symbol in place of the $ sign at
least twice, and then spelt Regis Philbin's last name wrong, starting it with the letter "F", instead of the correct "Ph".

The fourth lifeline is 'Switch The Question'.

Just checked YouTube for videos of the new Aussie Millionaire and the titles are nearly exactly the same as the current UK version only with the dollor prize value and four lifelines.

I'm pretty sure that the programme's title is translated as Qui vent gagner des millions? , or Who wants to win some millions? That may be a literal translation, but I'm not sure how the programme is actually broadcast in France, or if it uses that title.

Incidentally, in some foreign language versions of Millionaire , the host will present in their own language, before switching to English to say 'final answer', at which point a translation pops up of 'final answer' in the native language. This was mentioned by Chris Tarrant when he went on to Steve Wright in the Afternoon , claiming that he was in the bath when he was shocked to hear the line he wrote being read out verbatim on foreign television!

I like the extra sound effects they added to the title sequence but that set is ugly, I thought all the millionaire sets were the same no matter where it was, take the US for example. The Oz set is far to small. The UK version is definately the best no matter what music they use Wink .

The extra sound effect is part of their own generic theme tune they have been using for years. Unlike other countries which borrow the original, you can hear a small hint of guitar in their version.

If you think their set is small, you should see the Finnish version, their set is much smaller. So small they only have six people in Fastest Finger.
