Going to be interesting on Saturday how they wrap things up if the first set of contestants are eliminated around half way through - far too much time left just to have filler, but not enough to allow for a complete game.

Well, the answer is that it overran by about 20 minutes. It finished at 22:55 instead of 22:35.

I am sure it was planned though as there is a 30 minute 8 Out of 10 Cats repeat or a 15 Minute 4Music programme to drop later in the schedule if they need to.

As predicted, a couple did win this evening. They got £75,000. Quite a cheap show for Channel 4 probably. They took the £75,000 with them in note form when they left the stage, but there was still enough money for the next game to be played.

Overall, I enjoyed the show and hope it comes back for a second series, I bet Davina McCall does too or she will have nothing to do. Conspiracy theories on the Digital Spy forum include the show being something to do with Big Brother but I think that is just to do with it being presented by Davina McCall, being an Endemol programme and the contestants being a similar demographic to Big Brother housemates.

Annoyingly, although Channel 4 updated the Sky and Freeview EPG to account for the overrun, Channel 4+1 updated on Freeview but not on Sky.

Those conspiracy theories just come from idiots!

Definitely worth a second run - I would guess January, or late autumn if they want it back sooner. Hope it remains live too and stripped across a single week - I guess C4 would prefer it across one week if it Is live as that surely makes it much cheaper than having to either reassemble the set or block book the studio for say an eight week period.

It also makes it easier for contributors if their game bridges a show - coming back the next day is probably a lot easier to arrange than coming back the next week.

In production cost terms it's a no-brainer to strip it daily if it's live.

The Million Pound Drop is back on Thursday 21st October.

That must be just a test run, as the series itself returns Monday 25th October.

Thursday did strike me as odd.

I'm just catching up on the 2 episodes from the weekend.... what a bunch of numpties they get on this show. It's no wonder they're getting through 4 sets of contestants some episodes when a pair of them lost £850,000 saying that Twiggy is currently performing at the O2 Arena! Doing what exactly?

It's not surprising when the application process asks for a photograph very early on. I know they don't want to be giving away much prize money but it would be nice to see someone with some common sense do fairly well occasionally

Aye, I caught a bit of one and it was a pair of Essex pinheads. I normally don't titter when I see someone lose lots of cash (after all, its happened to me on a couple of shows), but I was chortling quite hard when I saw that.

I was just agasp at the telly going 'Twiggy?... Twiggy!?'

What shows have you lost money on?

I don't care to discuss it. Embarassed

It was rather satisfying seeing such stupidity deservedly punished.

Seems there was a problem with one of the questions relating to Doctor Who on a recent episode. The couple are to be invited back this week.
