I didn't really notice the lack of atmosphere, though it worked quite well. My only complaint was that it was stretched out a bit much although it seemed to speed up once the game was established.
The questions were quite a nice style too, a couple were very obvious (the temperature and the on this day in history one) although they still struggled.
I didn't really get the insistence on it being live as apart from the web version there's no reason for it to be live, and even then it didn't add much
For me the producers clearly can't have been involved in dress rehersals... the money counting/moving was chaotic, and the fact Davina has to manually count what's on what drop is comical. Surely there's a method of weighing a single 25k amount and then having a computer weigh the drop zones and rounding up what's on each section.
Also, why design the four pods so small? There's no way you could [in a stressed scenario] put all that money on one drop zone, which was demonstrated at the very beginning.
If they use these 6 episodes to iron out the choreography of the show, I'm sure it would be far more compelling though.
It was dull. It was boring. The presenter, set, contestants, graphics, music and the overall presentation were terrible. The fact it was live just made it worse. Channel 4 also cannot repeat the series due to the live nature of the questions and the graphics so they will not make any more money from it other than from this week.
Also did they show the abortion advert because I did not see it.
I couldn't help wondering why Davina kept making a big thing about the money being 'used banknotes'. They're only props, but why is it so important that the notes are used? The security detail was also pointless. Should have left the money in the cylinder and retrieved it after the game. The standing audience was quite annoying. There was no reason to empatise with the contestants because we were told nothing about them. In fact, the whole thing was badly executed all round to be honest.
The idea of the show is not bad, but they should have done a lot more practice. The fact that its live does not add much, the only good thing is we will see it live if someone wins £1m and not read about it beforehand.

Which is probably never going to happen (well maybe).
