The Military History Channel had a soft launch on Sky EPG 531 today, displacing the Crime & Investigation Network to a new slot (553). Quite a nice ident.
Anyhoo, here are some caps and a video of the launch.

The historical channels (History, UKTV History and Discovery Civilisations) seem to be remarkably popular, although I'm not sure whether "Military History" is quite my cuppa tea: it's perhaps too bellicose for my taste as I am a confirmed coward Wink

I see that they have used the new US version of the History logo, rather than the current UK History Channel logo.

I guess we will soon see it on our screens on the History Channel

It looks like they took a 4:3 ident from the American Military History Channel and turned it into a widescreen ident by adding some stuff on the sides.

Note the logo resembles the us history channel (or just history as its now called) logo.

The announcer's voice sounds very familiar - any idea who it is?

Unless I'm very much mistaken, it's the legendary Redvers Kyle - one of the original ITV announcers from Associated Rediffusion, and later Yorkshire Television. Very Happy

It's the marvellous David Allan, who's been doing the main History Channel for several years. Ex BBC TV of course, from "the good old days" Wink
