Mike is doing an early shift on World (21/8/01). Wonder if he'll be involved in the extended World/N24/BBC1 service starting 3 Sept???

Think it's mainly Martine, Lyndsey and Tanya. Saw a pilot of it today ... and yes before you all ask there is a variation of the BBC News theme ... will be called The World Today in the UK!

Whooppee!! A new theme!! It will probably have a bed as well. So who's it being presented by - Tanya Beckett, Martine Croxall/Dennis and Lyndsey Brancher? These aren't business people though are they?

Well no Rob, Tanya is but if it's going to be an hour called The World Today then it will have surely have UK News, World News and Business all rolled into one.

Indeed ... WBR is going to be part of the new show. With World, UK news and sport, plus biz.

YAY!

Good ol' BBC WORLD, they are bringing back the World Today! I've been asking for them to bring it back for ages, but one thing that is annoying, couldn't it be put on at a half sensible time?

I think it's only going to be branded The World Today in the UK .. not sure though

Sounds interesting!

How would this dual branding work then? Or would it be only referred to by name? (ie by presenters linking to the programme, in listings etc.)

Anyway, interesting to see how its all done when it goes live. At least I'll be able to see what happens of both channels. Wink

So, just to sum up. What date does it start and what time is it on every day. I know its probably been said loads of times but I just wanted to make sure. Smile

Start date is Sept 3, 5am on BBC World/N24 and BBC1, and originating from BBC World.

World news for 30 mins followed by WBR in the back half.

Can I just ask - who will be presenting London Live now that Mike Embley has left Newsroom South East?

Apparently it's Emily Maitlis who is joining from Sky. Don't know if the other existing presenters will be staying around.
