Probably because it has nothing to do with tv. Mrs Lazenby from down my road died on Monday night but she was 84 and I didn't think that a post on here was relevant.

I'm sure everyone on here is aware that this is a "tv" site - however Mike was a respected broadcaster and I'm sure no-one but the totally heartless could object to anyone, albeit a few people, paying their respects. That was totally uncalled for.

Well I don't see any respects being paid to Mrs Lazenby. Why is that?

We don't know who she was?

I'm ashamed to be part of your region.

And i'm ashamed to have people in my region who seem to consider that the significance of somebody's death is equal to their status as a tv or radio broadcaster. Offensive little s**t!

For Christ's sake, can we please get a grip. I posted this here because he was a broadcaster and it was worthy of a mention. I did not expect this thread to be hijacked by insensitive idiots. Get a bleedin' life ...

(Sorry for the foul mood, not been the best week for me...)

Well said, Rob.

Mike Dickin was a good presenter and I too wondered why he'd never passed out on air, what with his breathing!

I remember a while ago he was doing a link into the news and his jingle didn't work so he just came out with "On 1053 and 1089, this is talkSport with the latest now from the Sky News Centre... oh, we're not going there. Hello Sky, can you wake up please! I'll read the news then!" with that he went online and read the headlines from a certain broadcasters news site.
Sad
RIP Mike.
