I think it was a testbed for a new saturday morning show. The run was always intended to be only 15 weeks, which will probably lead to a review of the programme. It is also worth noteing that although this series only began in April, there was a previous series which aired up until about January. The previous format was only one hour, this show is 2 and a half hours. Besides i think Reggie takes over TOTP full time for a while in July while Fearne is away. What is intresting is that there is no output from Glasgow this year, which has been a feature of saturday mornings for as long as i can remember. It always used to be 26 weeks in London, followed by 26 weeks in Glasgow.

Glasgow hasn't always done the Summer shows - there have also been indys (Parallel 9?) as well as Manchester based shows (8.15 from Manchester, Up 2 U, Saturday Picture Show), as well as On The Waterfront.

But then I'm ancient and remember Swap Shop...

Wasn't it always 30 in London (Sept - April) and then 22 over the summer? I'm sure that they weren't equal.

i still think that they should bring back fully booked on a sunday morning, especially as I don't watch Hollyoaks!

Yeah, it did used to be 30/22, although since last year Dick and Dom finished mid-March rather than mid-April as was the tradition, giving the summer run slightly longer.

Summer shows seemed to be more or less the responsibility of BBC Manchester until 1991 (with one or two exceptions), then an indie (Roach) for Parallel 9 for three years, and then BBC Scotland until 2005. Perhaps the change this year is to increase the amount outsourced to independent producers?

Mighty Truck Of Stuff is wretched and continues a line of really bad Saturday morning kids television shows on the BBC. I remember reading an interview with Gemma Hunt where it said that she and Andrew Haydn-Smith would be hosting a new Saturday morning show. Maybe this is what we'll see come September?

Well, who's going to watch a show for reruns of The Batman (concidering it's pritty damn weak against it's later episodes) and whatever runs with it (Don't know, don't care)?

Since Ant and Dec's leaving SMTV, what makes the Saturday morning is the shows, not the stupid presenters.

Gimme a decent action cartoon and a decent comedy, and I'll park my arse.

So did BBC Manchester do it till 91 and BBC Scotland Fully Booked,FBi,L&K summer 2001 and TSS when it rotated[unfairly] with D&D? I hope TSS comes back in September becuase they need a main show. But without much change. With guests but they have a quiz near the end and if they get more than half the questions wrong they go in the gunge game at the end.

Quite often it was that which had me and my friends deciding what Saturday morning shows to watch. The action cartoons were the biggest turn-off.

Yeh, give me an SMTV poke'rap as opposed to the real thing any day!

Indeed. I'd rather have watched Cow & Chicken over one of the Marvel Comic based cartoons any day.
