I saw Midlands Today for the first time in ages tonight (I usually watch UK Today).

The view in the window was slightly different. It was still of a distant Birmingham skyline (because MT comes from the Pebble Mill studios in Edgbaston, so the city centre is a long way away), but it didn't look quite so distant. I don't know when this change happened.

It seems they've zoomed the camera on the Pebble Mill roof forward quite significantly, so everything looks bigger/nearer. It looks a lot better than before, when the top two thirds of the view was just sky. Why the view wasn't like this from day one of generic MT is beyond me!

Mind you, it's still not quite as good as the view of Centenary Square (in B'ham city centre), which will be used when the studio relocates to the city centre's 'The Mailbox' building (allegedly in October 2001), which is a view they experimented with in late 2000/early 2001 in the current set's window - and they still use at 2225 only (at least last time I watched).

BTW, I used to be called Sitting Ovation. xxJACKxx Wink

Do you see a certain pattern emerging?
