The chances are probably highly unlikely but I don't suppose anyone has an episode of How Do They Do That? where they show how the old blue BBC News studio is changed for each news presentation?

This is how Michael Buerk starts off the little show (I think...it was some 6 or 7 years ago now I think):
Good Evening, I'm Michael Buerk, and I'm real, which is more than can be said for the rest of this studio. It doesn't exist. Not the lights, not the floor - not even the cut glass coat of arms. Then the over-voice says 'So what does the studio actually consist of?' and you see a grey BBC Newsdesk with no lights, floor, presenters etc.

If anyone has got this please put into a RealPlayer format and send it to me, as I would really like to see this again! Thanks.

If my memory serves me right, this programme was shown some time in early 1996. Infact, I certain!

How did you manage to remember exactly what he said?

It's just one of those things. If I/we can all remember when Andy Warhol said 'In the future everyone will be famous for 15 minutes' then I'm sure I have no problem remembering this !

Knew there wasn't something quite right there!

Oh I remember that programme - it was that show presented by Des Lynam (and later by Eammon Holmes) and that short woman, whose name i forget.

There was an MP3 file going around about 6 months ago - if you do a search of the uk.tv.media.misc archives you will probably find it.

It involves Mr Buerk using a phrase about 'cost cutting' - with an unfortunate slip-up, i.e. the addition of the letter 'n' to one of those 2 words!!
