Yes, Mike's been good - I hope it's him and Sian tomorrow Smile two people who talk to you and not at you - and there's a big difference...

Absolutely. Michael is one of only a handful of broadcasters who have mastered the skill of talking to viewers.

He sits on the sofa, taking occasional sips of coffee even while he's in shot (something the other presenters are scared even to do!). He's having a cosy chat with the viewers, which I think is excellent.

I hope Michael on Brekky becomes a common occurance. He is just the tonic the programme needs.

As I say, I think Bill does that too - so Dermot should go, and Michael and Bill should share presenting duties.

Well he's on the Ten tonight, so it seems he's hardly ever off our screens.

Is he doing the weekend versions from the News24 set? Whoever does Friday from TC7 usually does...

The BBC know the viewers love him, and he's excellent whatever he tries his hand at. Whether it be Radio 4, National News or Breakfast Television. He is a man of exceptional talent, experience and genuine warmth. Someone who is highly respected throughout the media industry and by the viewers.

Mike Peschardt and Jules Botfield are doing WE24 and breakfast over the weekend and Monday, then Buerk is back.

He must have been tired yesterday though, breakfast and the 10

He'll probably just say "well thats if you're bothered about these things" and take another sip from his mug of warm coffee.

He's filling in the time before the Sport at 6.13 with a few comments of the contents of page 3 this morning Laughing . Nice camera angle too.

Surely he can go home in between though? It's thirteen hours in between the programs. He wouldn't just sit around doing nothign would he?

It was probably treated as two separate shifts - in at 4am for the Breakfast shift, then home after the programme for some sleep / a rest before going back in in the evening to do the 10.
