I am not a fan of Barrymore, but I also don't think he deserved the witch hunt that followed.

Stuart Lubbock (I think that was his name) was a consenting adult. It was his decision to neck ecstasy & coke and it was his decision to partake of what ever they got up to. It was also Stuart who when off his face decided to go for a swim. Barrymore was not responsible. Sure Barrymore took drugs, but so does most of London and there would be no-one left working in Media if they cracked down on coke.

I walked past the cheapy £1 shop the other day and in the window saw "Michael Barrymore's Naughtiest bits video - the stuff you'd NEVER see on TV!!!" It amused me for a second.

I don't think what happened should end his career - he didn't kill the man. Didn't he try a comeback anyway with "My Kind of Music" but it was a ratings flop?

Well apparently Barrymore was seen rubbing it into Lubbock's lips...

This is the second of my wonderful threads that have gone off-topic, because of our digital friend.

I agree with some of the things here - maybe Barrymore didn't deserve the witch hunt, but in the end, he did lie at the inquest. I think he got away quite lightly, considering one man is dead.
