Like most Big Brother contestant, he's known for being in the public eye, locked in a house with a load of gays, which has a swimming pool.

Personally I have no time for what I consider to be a pathetic self-indulgent, self-pitying and washed-up "star". I think he's set himself up to be the "butt" (fnarr fnarr) of jokes with his behaviour in recent years (alleged or otherwise, BB etc)

Maybe if he had been more co-operative with the police seven years ago, he wouldn't be in the mess is now. I'm sure the police don't go around arresting people for murder just for the fun of it.

Not let the gate crashers in in the first place. He's wealthy enough to have a guest list and hire gorillas to keep the gate crashers out.
I'm not suggesting for minute that he murdered the guy, but it happened at his home, in his pool at his party.

He's been released without charge.

I'm not a huge fan of Barrymore, but there is a very convenient feel to the police of this whole development to me. Barrymore kicked up the fuss at the end of last year about the mishandling of the whole case, after which the PCC opened an investigation into it, which if I'm reading the BBC article correctly has now been placed on hold due to the rearrest. So Barrymore has been discredited further regardless of what they find, and investigations into the police are halted. Whilst I would much rather sit on the fence on this whole thing, I can't deny I can see only one party benefitting there.
