The headlines at 1pm today on News 24 were extremely messy.
I'll try to describe what happened:
Countdown to 00. Stayed on 00 for a while.
Went to a wide shot of the studio. Chris Eakin says:
'Hello, this is BBC News 24.' Then he reads the first headline straight to camera without the film.
Second headline is read with film. Then the third headline is read with the film from the second headline still being played.
After the third headline, we go back to the wide shot, and Chris Eakin says:
'We also have a forth headline this afternoon...' and reads the forth headline to camera.
The vamp fades and goes to the shot of the female presenter only. No titles were played. She says:
'Good afternoon (pauses for a moment and looks down at paper in front of here temporarily, as if the autocue has broken). This is BBC News 24. I'm XXXXX XXXXX (unknown name) and presenting with me is Chris Eakin'
She then reads a quite long winded first story. We then get to hear part of the upcoming report as she is talking. The report is played after about a minute of her talking to camera (quite a long time if you think about it). The report is then interupted by breaking news.
A lot of breaking news today actually!
Well, that's about it.
