Might be a little light-hearted for you serious folks but i'll post it anyway.
Does anyone else have copies of this footage? I'm talking about the BBC XMAS TAPES of which i have 3 or 4,a MOLINAIRE promo, BFBS 1979 xmas tape,YTV xmas, and some old American television goofs and outtakes too rude to air.

I loved it,even though the tape quality left a lot to be desired, bootleg ofcourse. Any comments?

No it shouldn't Very Happy he's saying he's got it, he's just wondering if anybody else has seen it or has it so he can discuss it.

And I do have some of the above, yes. I know the 2 BBC tapes have been on bit torrent sites lately, but it's much nicer to have a real VHS copy or even DVD copy. I'm still trying to fathom what it is that Noel Edmonds says to John Craven in that fluffed up Swap Shop promo. Is it, 'you only have half a line', as in 'you've only got half a line of script to say, and you've fluffed it'? OR, is it 'you've only had half a line', as in... well!?!? There is a realplayer file of that clip on a site somewhere, I think it's the Saturday mornings site.

Thankyou for your reply Mulder, yes i know the line your referring to but would have to watch the clip again to perhaps shed some light on it.
My tape is late '70s early '80s footage,do they still make these Xmas tapes nowadays?

I think the last BBC one was probably the '79 one (Good King Memorex), as there was some stuff about the Royals that got out to the press on one of the previous tapes, and they were stopped by the govenors or something like that. Also, I think copies were at one point on sale on street stalls in London, and that was a bit of a problem back then. Nowadays, I'm not sure if they care, as we've seen a lot of the clips in programmes like 'Aunties Bloomers' etc.

There were some after 1979... I have a copy of one that references the hoo-hah over the Princess Anne joke

There was a great page listing and reviewing the contents of Christmas tapes on a site called Some of The Corpses Are Amusing...... but the site has recently disappeared... can find it on archive.org either

I think SOTCAA is still out there somewhere, maybe someone at...

http://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk/

... can help?

I do remember the page with the Good King Memorex tape transcribed, but was there also a page with all the tapes listed?

Tried to find the page ages ago - pity it's disappeared!

PM me if anyone wants to trade xmas tapes, I have quite a few lying around (TVAM - BBC 78/79 - various ITV mid 70's)

SOTCAA was/is a great site, but it seemed to splinter after being thrown off NotBBC. The original one with the 'Hidden Archive' article about Xmas tapes was at http://corpses.comedynetuk.com/ .... but that now redirects to cunk.com. There's a SOTCAA site at: http://web.ukonline.co.uk/sotcaa/ but that doesn't have any of the old content.

They had a page listing the contents of many Christmas tapes; BBC, Thames, ITN, TV-am etc.
