And so, it's nearly the end of Christmas Eve night entertainment here on TV Forum. Do join us if you can tomorrow for more brilliant entertainment, including a Two Ronnies Sketchbook and a brand new Doctor Who!

But until then, from all the team here at TVF1, goodnight, and now we hand you over to our friends at Metropol 24))7. Goodnight.

"Look at the time - if you're still up wrapping presents, or testing the sherry for Santa, it's Christmas Day, so a very Happy Christmas from all of us here at BBC Scotland. Now, time for a film: Take Me Home with John Denver"

A very Good Morning from TV Forum.

We now join BBC WM & Keith Middleton until 1am, then it's 5 live until 6am, then Mike Rimmer takes over until 8am.

I take it that was the magical Dean Lydiate handing us over to the film Take Me Home?

Anyway, from all of us at nok32uk's residence - have a very Merry Christmas. Cool

It was Phil Vowels. Why do announcers always say "Happy Christmas" instead of "Merry Christmas" - I have found only three examples of the latter being used.

Dan, if you're there, is this you?

I'm surprised that in this 'politically correct' age they're not forced to say something like 'Happy Holidays' or 'Season's Greetings'! Rolling Eyes

Anyway, Simon - and everyone at TVF - have a very Merry Christmas!

Bloody hell. The amount of moaning about 'political correctness' on this forum depresses me.

PC is basically a good thing - treating everyone equally, and making sure people don't feel either second class or persecuted. I can't see how anyone could think this was bad. Sadly, the term has been twisted - partly by people who take it too far, admittedly, but more by people who like people to *think* everyone else is taking it too far (your Daily Mails and the like) - when the practices they are condemning are either sensible, or isolated cases of silliness.

I just can't see what people get their knickers in a twist so much about it. It's noticable that it's often white hetrosexual males who get so upset about it - people who, after all the revolutions over the years, are *still* in a far better position generally than others in pretty much every way.

Erm, Merry Christmas everybody!

I dont really feel christmassy till i've been. The Incense, the crib, the singing, and the gospel sung, it just makes the night perfect.

I've only once been to Midnight Mass, and it was a very uplifting experience.
