& it had all the names for each station except Meridian said Meridian Broadcasting instead of Television. Does this mean they were around longer, was going to have thier own radio station or even become their own media company if so I hope they would have brought out Carlton
I don't know. It depends on what name the franchise is under. It's difficult to find a large business which doesn't have thousands of entities. The ITC website says Carlton Broadcasting - I'm pretty sure it was Television recently, so they must have changed it. It's all so confusing!!

Aren't some logos on that site out of date? (UTV, Tyne Tees, Channel)
It's not the logo, it's the information about the franchise

I wasn't referring to Carlton's logo. That does have the star, doesn't it? But yeah, the franchise info should be either Carlton Television or Carlton Communications in London, not Carlton Broadcasting! Central's franchise should be Central Independant Television, and Westcountry's, Westcountry Television. Check that they don't say Carlton Broadcasting too, 'cos that ain't correct if it does!
Here's a project for you while I'm doing my IT GCSE exam. Go to www.companieshouse.gov.uk. Search for 'Carlton'. I'm sure it will have a whole list of Carlton Communications, Television, Broadcasting etc etc....
Carlton doesn't have to have their franchise under the name of Carlton Communications of Television, that's all I am saying. Likewise, if Central or Westcountry are operated by Carlton Broadcasting, it would be that. If they are still operating separately, it would be their own name.

Oh yeah? Why is Central called Carlton Central, and Westcountry, Carlton in the Westcountry? Because they had to keep those names, or lose the franchises! Carlton in London is called Carlton London.
