Just noticed on the Digital UK trade site that the Mendip Relay DSO1 timings have been pushed forward on Wednesday, all will complete now by 1130, probably to ensure all relays are on air for the Budget at 1230. Several were due not to be ready until 1500.

I've retuned on my EyeTV and can now receive BBC One Wales and BBC Two Wales along with BBC One West and BBC Two, which is a bonus.

We had the same problem here in the North West, with the channels from Moel Y-Parc getting in before the Winter Hill channels, which left a lot of viewers (especially those in Merseyside and Cheshire) with BBC Wales appearing on the EPG before BBC North West, although all the fuss from that has calmed down now.
My Grandma has this problem with her IDTV, but the set has seen sense to put the Welsh channels in the 800 category.

Interestingly, the Bath relay wasn't originally going to get mux BBCA (PSB1) until mid morning 24 March 2010. When I tried scanning my Panasonic DVD recorder for new DVB services around 8:45 am Wednesday, I got the 8 BBC channels + BBC radio on Freeview (UHF channel 25). Evidently Bath relay must have got that digital mux earlier than expected.

Would it have really mattered ? I think Radio 5 reception is pretty good in the Mendip service area for those who really were addicted to having the mundane detail of The Budget in real time.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to take you to task on that one Mark.
Try getting either Radio 5 frequency around the middle of Wiltshire and it's pretty well impossible to get a signal that's listenable.

I didn't realise it's happening tonight and not tomorrow night. Anybody know exactly when the switch off is planned on each channel?
Five's closest junction is at midnight itself, C4 at 10 past. I'm assuming it's gonna happen in those junctions just to be neat, and I've heard that's exactly what they do. However, the closest junctions to midnight on BBC One and ITV1 are both at 23:35 (the main BBC news has been extended due to the election - they always have to make it more complicated don't they!), which seems too early to me.

If the other regions are anything to go by (with the notable exception of BBC 1 Wales and S4C) the tx is cut mid programme sometime between 00:00 and 01:00 unannounced.
Last week's Wenvoe shut down had S4C and BBC 1 Wales on their analogue outlets signing off neatly at around 00:00hrs, I don't know at what point the carriers were cut, possibly up to an hour later ?
