Is Men & Motors really going?

Is Men & Motors really going? to be replaced by ITV Play?

My dad's gone mad at this.

Only on Freeview, it's going to carry on as normal on Sky, NTL and Telewest.

It's definately going on Freeview - but is supposed to be continuing on Sky and Cable.

However, many people suspect there will be a situation similar to the arrival of ITV3 which saw Granada Plus taken off the air with little more than a few hours notice.

I read about that this afternoon. A handshake was done and they walked over and quite literally pulled the plug on Plus right then. It was in the middle of an Ad break apparently.

So we may get that happen again.

Though one cannot rule out such a thing happening, it was a completely different situation.

That was basically ITV desperate to get ITV3 on Sky, Sky said that they'd have to wait for space, so ITV negociated a deal for Granada Sky Broadcasting, which had been put under review. The deal was clinched at Lunchtime, Granada Plus was taken off immediately and then ITV2 moved up the EPG, ITV3 appeared not too long after it.

Unless M&M's ratings sharply drop, I can't see this happening.

The only other standard channels that have ever disappeared since Freeview's launch has been Sky Travel (replaced by Sky Three) and TV Travel Shop.
