I seem to have the age old curse that I've been an avid reader for longer than I care to remember, but never really felt motivated to post but then decided the other day that I would.

I have been here longer than my post count suggests, of course - but I'm relatively new to this posting business. I've started and now there's no stopping me. I'm seriously wondering how I managed to just be a lurker for so long!

Well Ash, welcome...

You seem to have passed your initiation test with full marks.

Ah, yes. You truly know an argument is dead when you have to resort to humouring the person who is putting you in the your place. I don't think there is any doubt who won that one.

And as for Katherine's comment - I think you should report that to Asa. Don't want personal issues or arguments being brought on the forum now, would we?

And if I'm not denting your armour, then why are you paying me attention and addressing my points. If you didn't care you'd just say "Rubbish" and then ignore me. Clearly, this isn't the case.

Don't worry - I've reported you all right. You sound like a bitter, twisted little tick of a person. Have you had previous lives on here? someone with an axe to grind? Lord knows, with your Look Hull, you sound remarkably similar to steveimp.

MORE INFO: Asperger.... whoops I did it again! Ash Burger and his 'no stopping me' will most likely turn into a troll along Digifiend lines. We have been warned. And as with all lurkers in life, they eventually end up being flushed out into the sewer with all the other turds in life....

Well Mr Burger, we know this place is full of weirdos. It's part of its bizarre charm. We don't need you to tell us.

Oh, and no offense intended to aformentioned weirdos.

And you have the cheek to call me a bitter and twisted person, and then you come along with this gem. Just because I do not agree with Katherine, does not make a bad person.

Frankly, that last comment of yours just shows how much of a hypocrite you are.

That's exactly the kind of aspiephobic attitude I've come to expect on this forum.

Well thank you Aston. It is a pleasure to be here.

But if that was the initiation test then it really wasn't very taxing. Must do better next time.

I look forward on my continuing success and putting you in your rightful place.

Oh, and who might that be? I'd love to know because I've never been sure myself. I look in the mirror each morning and I'm just not convinced. Do tell.

You're making it increasingly difficult for me to believe that you haven't got another username on this forum.

However, if you are a new user, don't push it too far and I think you could be fun.

Well I must admit that I'm a bit of a joker. This seems to be what holds me under suspision of being someone else.

I can tell you now, I don't have an axe to grind. If I did, I wouldn't be doing it here. And if it WAS to do with this forum then I just wouldn't bother.

I look forward to our happy future together.

I wonder how Patrice went on with the board? or if those days lie ahead?

This book is very useful to those wanting to work in broadcast journalism

Having read the book only a few months ago I'd like to recommend it too. Every topic has a good selection of quotes and tips from some of the best across the industry. Written by Vin Ray (Head of recruitment for BBC News), if you are at the crossroads and don't know whether broadcast journalism is for you, this book will be invaluable.
