Sorry to take up your time, but I would be interested to hear from anyone here who works for the BBC.

I ask because I just got offered an interview for a position at the White City offices and I'd like to know what sort of environment I'm getting into.

What's the pension/bonus schemes like? What are the cafeteria facilities like? Do they have a smoking policy? All this information would be really helpful

And natch, if I get the job, you can guarantee I'll be posting all the latest juicy gossip from the inside.

Thanks in advance to all the beebies!

They all sound like questions you should ask at your interview.

Indeed. Although I think the answers in brief are:

Good;
Average; and
Yes - no smoking inside buildings except for in designated rooms.

Just out of interest, what's the position your going for?

If you get the job, you'll be signing a contract which includes a confidentiality clause, so it's probably best not to go to the interview (actually it's a 'board') with the intention of being a TV Forum mole....

and the catering facilities are the big white tent on your left as you walk in...

however a Starbucks has just opened and I believe there are plans for a chain pizza restaurant to open on site.

j.aron david michael leonard van der starre br-ass works at the bbc, he presses the play button on the news 24 countdown and reads news bulletins when there's no one else to do it.

perhaps lee stanley could put you in touch - he's met him.

I think Aston works at the BBC, but I'm not sure if he's mentioned it.

Ha Ha - 'twas thinking the very same...

And the answer is that there are a number of BBC, ITN, ITV and Sky employees who lurk and post here... As well as normal people...

I don't think there are any normal people here, noggin.
