Yes, the end cap remained on screen for a long time and we had an apology over it before cutting briefly to an itv logo, then the sponsorship sting.

Either there was an issue with timing or the playout of the sponsorship. I assume a trailer was dropped somewhere to make up time if it was the latter.

Interesting that looking through itv player that Monday's episode is titled 'round at Mel & Sue's'. I wonder if that was the working title.

While I'm not surprised, I think it's a shame. It was unique, and enjoyable.

It should have went out at 5pm.

I liked it, but it was poorly scheduled. Might have done better as a Loose Women summer stand in

Absolutely. It had more of a teatime feel to it, rather than late afternoon. They should have cut O'Grady's run by a few weeks and put it there.

I always thought Channel 4 missed a trick by not picking up this pair and trying a chat show in the 5pm slot. Considering everyone else is doing quizzes a chat show with likeable presents should serve a niche in that spot.

Channel 4 has a history of doing something great in a previously "beige" slot (07:00 - 09:00 with The Big Breakfast, 12:30 - 13:30 with Light Lunch, 17:00 - 18:00 with Richard and Judy and 18:00 - 19:00 with TFI Friday) then not following it up longer term. All these slots are crying out for innovation again...

To be honest, The Big Breakfast and Richard & Judy were quite 'long term' commitments - I think the real problem for C4 was finding something which would match up to viewers' expectations.

If they were to innovate in the 5pm slot I could see it working - they're up against two (albeit popular) quiz shows, whatever antiques show BBC Two can fish out of the barrel and the weakest news service on the main five channels. Breakfast is a different kettle of fish - I just don't think there is the audience for it any more.

Add 11pm to that as well.
