reading through a guide to brookside episodes there are nwo abreviations I don't get

FTT and OOV

I guess somebody on here would know Wink

why am I asked to specify a 'subject' when posting a new topic if I leave the 'title' box blank

should I not be asked to specify a 'title?

It would help if you gave the context but OOV is normally Out Of Vision.

Hmm, thats perhaps a bit rich considering you spelt abbreviations wrong and you've not used capital letters in your 'title'. Wink

Yep, OOV is 'Out of Vision' used in news production to describe the items that appear in vision only with the newsreader talking over them

anyway thank you for thouse who help me with one abbreviation, the context is used in the cast list for the episodes so it will say 'Max Farnham FTT' or 'Jimmy Corkhill OOV' for example

No idea on FTT, but as someone said OOV would be Out of Vision. In that context Jimmy Corkhill can probably be heard in the scene, but not seen.

Not forgetting B1 for BBC1 and B2 for BBC2.

apparently FTT is an abreviation for the brookside video Friday The Thirteenth so FTT stands for a character appearing in that rather than the actual televised episodes

Albeit very much a BBC term. It's not used as much in other places.
