Plus, the BBC have been through some rough times, with everything happening. Yesterday, The Sun had claimed parents were outrageous about Cbeebies broadcasting an episode of "The Tweenies" imitating Jimmy Saville.
This is all very bad, and the BBC may need a rebrand to at least refresh themselves as a company.

that's the stupidest thing i've ever read.
The Sun and most other newspapers have been attacking the BBC for the past 40 years as they hate how it has guaranteed income and remains more popular than them.
The whole Tweenies thing is absurd and nobody apart from a few people who take offence as a way of life, nobody thought anything off it apart from it being a tad embarrassing.

How would a new logo change anyones opinions of the BBC?! Anyway, as pete said, The Sun is always attacking the BBC. Its nothing new
I'd agree with the majority on here that the main logo must stay. It is definitely timeless and the different uses of it in recent years (3D boxes, being pink, etc.) hasn't detracted from that, IMO. This shows how versatile that logo can be, and could be alongside new channel logos that have a uniform yet unique look.
The new itv logo might not be to everyone's tastes, but I think they have used it successfully on 2,3 & 4. And the way that their junctions/promos are presented is simple but noticeably different. This is something the BBC need to look at and not necessarily imitate, but take inspiration from,

A new logo will not magic away Jimmy Savile.
Agree with Pete here, what the Sun forget to mention (they may not have, I don't read it & TBH they usual miss of the real facts anyway), is this episode was made in 2001, long before the revelations & long forgotten about hence why the episode was broadcast.
I'd also agree with what seems like the majority here - the logo itself is fine, but as they have developed a range of looks away from the original simple premise, the overall branding has become messy.
My preference would be for all the TV channels to be given a refresh with individual looks, but consistencies in things like fonts used and trailer design. A move away from Gill Sans would also be a good idea I think, using it only for the logo. What I'd love the most, though, is some real creativity. ECPs, for example, are awful at the moment, as they are very basic looking and poorly executed. They don't seem to be able to *do* slick for things like this.

Most channels now seem to have ECPs for the sake of having ECPs, rather than using them for promos or anything of note as they did when they were introduced.

The Sun did mention that.
Bloody hell a first for them then to mention all the facts
