Maxine Mawhinney

A bit late, but what did you think of maxine on Breakfast. I think it was her first time, maybe as a stand in (?) or more permenant?

I thought she was good but a bit heavy on the jokes and didn;t seem to stop laughing on less serious news.

Not bad. Views?

Also, any presenters you think should be promoted to Breakfast for 24?

Lol! When I got up this morning I turned on the tv next to my bed (habit) and saw Maxine. The first thing I thought was, 'that'll be mentioned on the forum'! I caught her after the 8.00am opt-out but didn't get a chance to watch, as if I'm seeing that bit of the show then I'm running late for work!

Maybe the laughing was newbie-nerves? I'd like to see Jackie (the) Bird come down from BBC Scotland to have a go at Breakfast. She's bright and breezy and she does the banter well (whenever she gets a chance).

I like Maxine. I think she is wasted on News 24 presenting alone. She deserves at least a proper time slot with another male presenter.

She seemed great with John Nicholson earlier in the week (when John broke their clock - anyone see it?).

3-6      Matthew Amroliwala (he's great and gorge!) and Jane Hill
6-9      John Nicholson (right persuasion for me but not my type!)
and Maxine Mawinney
9-12    Gavin Esler (or the Peter Dobbie who's great too) and
Carrie Gracie (Anna Jones and Chris Low on W/E)
12-5    Peter Coe (he deserves the graveyard slot!)

And she was great on Breakfast too!

oh, and I think Max Foster is brilliant - I know he's a 'reporter' but surely he could be made a presenter. I'd also like Jane Benett-Powell to present it too!!

I thought she was excellent! Much more natural than Sophie! I think Bill should take over from Jeremy, and Maxine and Sian should do half a week each, more or less! I mean Maxine is only on News 24 on Saturday, Sunday and Monday! So she could do during the week.

When I checked the Sky Guide it was supposed to be Sophie presenting with Bill this morning,I dont know what happened that meant she couldnt be on this morning?

I dont know if anyone else noticed but I think they were both more realaxed and layed back and worked really together. At half past seven before the regions they read out a few emails and one was about what Bill said earlier about freedom fighters or something and he was trying to justify what he said and she kept joking and cutting into him to get onto the next email and the both had a good laugh more than what I have ever seen before with any oter of the presenters. It would be nice to see more of them working together on Breakfast. Today I think Bill was at his best with the jokes and laughter just like what hes like John Terrett between the business headlines.

I thought Maxine was excellent! Good for her! Infact, I got quite a shock when I switched it on this morning, becuase, it was early, and usually you only see Bill on Fridays, and when I seen him this morning, I wondered where Thursday had gone! Silly me:D

Am I the only one who cannot stand the sight of Maxine Mawhinney? She is SO annoying - plus if I were her, I'd have something done about those teeth!

I often wonder if any of these people visited the forum to find not so nice comments about them. Surely she should be valued on her journalistic abilities which I think are great! and not her appearance?
