I have been told by a friend who has read up on the show that Max and Paddy.s Road To Nowhere is going to return the second Friday in August. (Aug 12th)

Does anybody know if this is true?

It's more likely to be a repeat run, I can't remember reading if the show had been comissioned or not. Though I was reading in the papper yesterday that Peter Kay is working on a 'new' project for Channel 4.

Plus 'That Peter Kay Thing' is being repeated on Friday nights from this week.

The bad news for Peter Kay fans is that the popular comedian will not be making any more series of his Channel 4 sitcoms Phoenix Nights or Max and Paddy for now.
But the good news is that Kay is writing a new comedy for Channel 4, which is likely to be on air next year....

MAKING any more series, the second Max and Paddy has probably already been made!

But the good news is that Kay is writing a new comedy for Channel 4, which is likely to be on air next year.

The Channel 4 director of programmes, Kevin Lygo, said Kay was working on a new show, which, like Phoenix Nights, was likely to be set in his native north-west.

He said Kay's new sitcom would again be an ensemble piece, but with a new cast of characters, rather than the tyrannical Brian Potter and the rest of the Phoenix Nights crew.

"Peter Kay is without doubt our biggest comedy talent. The new show will be probably be on Channel 4 next year," Mr Lygo said.

"It will feature new characters, but he'll never stray very far from Bolton [his home town]."

Kay made two series of Phoenix Nights, which have proved a huge hit on DVD.

He followed that up with Max and Paddy, featuring the two bouncer characters from Phoenix Nights on the run in a camper van, which was broadcast on Channel 4 earlier this year.

Mr Lygo also said he would consider commissioning a second series of Nathan Barley should co-creator Chris Morris want to do it.

Nathan Barley, Morris's hotly anticipated first TV show since Brass Eye in 2001, drew a lukewarm critical reaction and poor ratings when broadcast on Channel 4 earlier this year.

"We're always talking to Chris. He's thinking about whether he wants to do another [series of] Nathan Barley," Mr Lygo said.

"It depends what he wants to do with it. I don't think he'd want to do the same thing again - he'd want to take it on."

I'm confused, I think we should wait at least until the end of the first series of "A Bear's Tail" to see what happens.

Why? Rolling Eyes It's quite clear to anyone with half a brain there won't be a second series anytime in the near future. I've posted quotes from CH4's programming director twice now, but it still won't go through your thick skull. Rolling Eyes

Ch4 probably did have plans for a second series, but for some reason or another - Maybe PK wanted to do something else?, or maybe they saw just how crap the 1st series actually was - they've decided not to go ahead with it just now. Simple. Why are you finding it so hard to understand?
