Material Girl - BBC One

Material Girl - Series 1 has just finished on BBC one.

I loved the series - but I know it had low viewing figures.

The final ep was shown at 22.45 - instead of 8pm!

I think the BBC didn't do enough promotion of the series once it had started. I think it would be a great shame if the progrrame didn't return for a second series.

It was a lot like Hotel Babylon - just with fashion! So I don't understand why viewing figures would be so low when HB is so successful!

It was written off by the BBC before it began really, putting it head to head with Emmerdale and Corrie. I believe it had been sat on the shelf a few months too.

Clearly an Ugly Betty rip off from the word go really. I have to say, the final episode was quite good and it also suggested that a second series could follow. Clearly that won't happen.

Anyhow, I think it was in the wrong slot to begin with. It would never get better ratings than Corrie or Emmerdale. That said, its yet another case of the BBC getting rid of good shows - just like Hope Springs. That was a great comedy drama, I loved that series.
