Bit of a shame that TVFET (TV Forum Eternal Treasure) Alastair Stewart has never really been used on a quiz, apart from this one. Was it only aired in London?

I think it was a Carlton London commission to meet the regional hours. It even has the low budget feel about the set.

Edit: Yes, it was produced by Cactus TV for Carlton shown between Jan-April 2001.

I'm sure that show looks familiar even though I don't live in London... has it ever been repeated on Challenge? I know some ITV regional gameshows have in the past.

Yes. And I think Gambit was an Anglia production.

Fred also did something in the 70s for YTV I think ?

Also a regular stand in for Dickie Davies on WoS

There's a common misconception that's he's only ever worked for Southern/TVS/Meridian

He presented a number of adult education programmes for Tyne Tees in the early 1970s as well.

And Fred also presented Pass the buck (before Eamonn Holmes I think)

Blimey, I don't remember that at all, but Wiki seems to confirm

I was about to say he's never worked for the BBC, but clearly he has !
