Just out of curiosity: does anyone know where the newer Masterchef HQ is? (The one they've used for the last couple of series). I know the old one was located here:
Which is actually one site of the halls of residence for the city of London university - and is a large refectory area or 'chill out' space that is converted in a mass kitchen when Masterchef roll into town.
I also, would love to know where the new Masterchef HQ is.
Given there is a balcony, at first I thought it was using the same sound stage at 3 Mills Studio in London that the Million Pound Drop uses. But, looking down via the satellite view on Google and Bing Maps, there doesn't seem to be any of the surrounding buildings that you see as they stroll into the kitchen.

Unless [shock] they're faking the walk to/from the HQ ... remember there was a lot of fuss about a Nigella Lawson sequence that showed her walking up her street with a bag of shopping and going into her front door. Someone then made a fuss that they kitchen stuff was all shot in a studio somewhere else. Not that that matters one jot of course - it's how telly is made - but to people at certain newspapers this is deception of the highest order (cough ... polar bear cubs ... cough)

I don't think that's the case- the new set is so much bigger than the previous one it has to be in a different location.
That was series 2 (when it was stripped nightly at 6.30 over on Two and still wore the 'goes large' moniker) The very first of the Masterchef Goes Large was done at the City Of London Uni site, before moving to a place somewhere near Euston Station. Problem was, the buildings surrounding it were being demolished, and I remember reading over the DS that one former contestant said that filming of her heat has to be stopped twice due to the noise.
Series 3 until it's move to BBC One primetime (and even now with Celeb and Professionals) are done at the City Of London Uni halls of residence.

It could be a converted barn for the new MCHQ - but if still could easily be a film studio with the glass doors at the end of the set, being placed where the scenery dock doors (propped open during filming) usually are.
