Oti judging TMD wouldn't affect Strictly's panel though, as she's a dancer on Strictly - it's her sister Motsi who judges. So Anton would still have to wait for his turn as a permanent judge!

I think Anton would actually make a good judge on this, arguably better than on Strictly, not so much for his dance experience but more for being in the world of celebrity for the last 17 years. I suspect Strictly alumni will feature heavily in this.

One thing I didn't realise until seeing a couple of clips is the masked dancers seem to have masked partners as well.

I suspect Anton is being lined up for Strictly this year as Bruno has already ruled himself out other than an odd video link (but I can’t see the BBC paying him £250k for that this year!)

What I haven’t understood is why TMD have had one week only ‘guest judges’ the past couple of weeks (Alan Carr / Matt Lucas)...they don’t really seem to add that much to proceedings

I'd disagree with that actually - by the later stages the regular panels have kind of cycled through their guesses so bringing in someone who isn't familar with the previous weeks who may bring new names to the table brings a bit of variety to the show at a stage where it gets quite samey.

Oti seems like a good choice and it makes sense to swap out the singer. Surprised they didn't go for Dianne Buswell, already has the young/teen audience from being with Joe Sugg to bring over, compared to Oti.

The series is to air in Spring, not Autumn and Oti Mabuse is to replace Rita Ora on the original panel.

So they lose an episode but still have 12 performers. I would guess Saturdays from late April, presumably to be filmed soon after DoI wraps up.

Cannot wait for the series.

As another post mentioned, it's a shame we won't be able to discuss it, but it'll be a nice spin-off to the main series.
