Very sad to hear of this news. His contributions to the industry revolutionised the concept of television branding and his legacy still lives on to this very day - and long may it continue.

A legend. I spoke to David Lowe earlier in the year and he mentioned what a lovely guy he was to work with during the 1997 rebrand of BBC News. RIP.

Really sad news. Simply put, he was a master of his field creating many memorable pieces of branding. His Creativity shone in all his work and his legacy will live on in them. R.I.P.

Very sad news indeed. I would be surprised if the networks that used his idents don’t arrange some sort of tribute.

With the 30th anniversary of the Bladed "2" idents this coming February, I really think a documentary ought to be created in his memory; his legacy will never be forgotten.

Being born at the start of the millennium, my earliest memories of Lambie-Nairn's work were the early 2000's BBC idents and presentation and the Carlton star logo through their VHS tapes at the time, the BBC Two Personality and CBeebies idents in particular were what kindled my love for TV presentation; his legacy will never be forgotten.

They very possibly will via the RTS and their events and conferences, I don't think anything much will be broadcast for general public consumption

When I got into all of this thing called television presentation way back around 2001-2003ish, it was through his work on BBC News 1999-2003 (All Forms) as that was the thing that hooked me. Then later on, it was when I started to realise there is much more to this fellow than cream and red and layered maps. For me in my love of this thing, he was there being instrumental in it.

BBC One / Ballon 1997-2002 - Rhythm & Movement 2002-2008
BBC Two / Various
BBC News / 1999-2003 - 2008-Present*
*Through Variants and so forth.

So all in all as a fan of BBC presentation in particular, I probably have a lot to owe him for.

Mr. Lambie-Nairn thank you again.

The story's on the front page of the BBC News website right now, so even they're aknowledging it.

Very sad news. His impact on television branding, and actually branding in general can never be overstated.

Very sad news. He featured in the recent "The Sound of TV" series, which was only shown this month, and that was probably his final tv appearance.
