Marks and Spencers Advert 2006

Just seen the amazing advert for Marks and Spencer Christmas campaign.

It featured Shirley Bassey singing Pink's-Get this party started and was shown just before tonight's IACGMOH!

I didn't recognise many of the celebrities in the ad though!

Are there meant to be loads of celebrities in the ad? I thought it was just the M&S girls?

Well I spotted Twiggy and the camera panned onto certain people as if they were famous but I didnt really recognise any of them. Maybe they aren't famous after all then!

Twiggy is the face of the current campaign, and the selection of featured girls are all top models, I'm told.

The campaign has been tremendously successful over the last quarter, seeing a 30+% increase in sales.

I think M&S got the timing of this advert perfect.

The Pink song has a Bond-esque feeling and with the premiere very near and Bassey singing it made the advert feel quite special!

I used to know Christmas was getting near when the Woolworths ads used to take over virtually every break but they dont seem to feature as prominent lately whereas the M & S are a good indicator now!

it's rather fabulous isn't it. Nearly as fabulous as the other radical change that is happening to M&S this christmas

Working there over Christmas is great. I've spent four of my festive periods in various stores - and it's worth it alone for the food waste. Fill up your freezer!

It's a great advert - they do the same or simular thing every year - really like this year's one - well done to all involved.!

It's hard to believe M&S never did any TV advertising until about 6 years ago.
