Not exclusively. Jeremy Vine had the same complaint on his show.
Yes, but it seems everyone who phones into that show has a copy of the Daily Wail in their underpants anyway.
The complaints, are, to be frank, b******s. And a few complaints to a radio programme that's mostly contributed to by conspiracy theorists and Daily Heil readers is hardly a 'flood of complaints'. It wasn't rammed down children's throats: I thought it was incredibly sensitively handled, and the fact was that it was a matter of interest to children . Surely that's the POINT of a news bulletin? To report the news?

Seriously, though, you're being hugely stereotypical. Claiming that you can only go on what your "kids" tell you is hardly a blimmin' mass opinion poll of the nation, is it?
And, getting this thread back onto topic, I took mass offence at your other diatribe:
Take it you've never suffered from depression, and contemplated suicide as a result, then? Or are you just being plain ignorant.

Yes,he seemed a likeable fellow.
Liked to do lots of drugs with his younger, impressionable girlfriend who died as a result.
So then decides to take his life in a very public place without thinking of the poor sod who will probably suffer for years from the shock of finding his body ( and pity the poor sod when the body had been strung up for six days. )
Of course death - whether accidental or self-inflicted - is a sad affair.
But let's not eulogise a minor children's TV presenter who chose to avoid taking responsibility for his life and caused untold misery.

As the Ed's blog piece points out, they went against journalistic principles and *didn't* report the whole story, leaving out the suicide angle.

Hear, hear.
I have mercifully never had to go through something like this, but I know from talking to other people that suicidal depression inhibits rational thinking, and invades absolutely every part of a person's life. I think the comments made above were, therefore, incredibly insensitive and offensive.

The loss of human life is always tragic, but I have no sympathy except of course for his family and close friends left to deal with the carnage he has left behind. The simple fact is that he was little more than a coke snorting junkie with total disregard for the laws of the this country. Add to this mix his job as a childrens TV presenter, someone who should be a role model. God forbid if this is the kind of person children and indeed adults look up to as a role model then we are sure in trouble.

Listen - it's great if you can do what you do, from day to day, without - well - cigarettes, alcohol, drugs... whatever. To you, I raise my hat. You either must be extremely confident, or extremely resilient.
However, the higher profile the job - and the higher focus that it is - the more likely you are to succumb to the pressures, particularly if you naturally lack in confidence. Personally, I have never taken drugs, but I smoke, and I drink to excess. It's how I get through what I do - which I enjoy immensely - and therefore, you must give leeway to those who require such vices to be able to excel at what they do.
To not allow that leeway shows an immense amount of ignorance. We are all only human after all.

Well of course he's a role model. .for his artistic talent.
Secondly, the way you've written that makes out as if he did drugs live on air.
