even though they were enjoyable at first, does anybody else find here that these 'mania' programmes on ITV1 on Saturday nights are starting to get a bit exhausting? Can we not see something new on a sat night over on ITV1? Abbamania, Greasemania, 80smania, Queenmania, Madonnamania, aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, so many manias!

I personally don't think they have made too many - there has still been under ten in so many years!

The only problem seems to be that we had Queenmania last week and got Madonnamania this week!

It is nice to have them spaced throughout the year but the Madonna one looks good!

Aside from the fact it's apparently presented by Ian Wright. Shocked

Queenmania was presented by Zoe Ball!

I don't remember them having the same presenter for any of them!

Oh dear, it seems that G4 will be singing again, or should I say that blonde one with the fat guys and the skinny one as his backing singers. Rolling Eyes

I thought tonight's Madonnamania was ok. Could've been better but it accomplished exactly what it was supposed to do - get a few soap stars, some pop-idol acts and some opera singers and get them all to sing versions of Madonna tracks.

My only gripe with the programme was firstly that only one artiste sang live and that there were too many people from the same background ie three female acts from ITV soaps! Surely one soap-female per mania show is enough. Also there were three acts from ITV pop-idol type programming! Once again one act representing them is enough here.

The only track that totally blew me away from Katherine Jenkins performing Madonna's Frozen. It was the only track sung live and it was worth watching just for that rendition.

The biggest joke of the night was some of the poor miming and also the last song where everyone got on the stage to perform Holiday. Half of the celebrities didnt join in and sing either because they didnt know the words or just couldnt be bothered or were embarrased about the whole thing. The person who looked as if he didnt give a damn was Kevin from Liberty X and even 2 of the guys from G4!

Just watching the Madonna mania programme on ITV2 and it's ok! Some effort has gone into it and they are showing all the old videos in 4 x 3 (not cropped!)

They're all doing it for the money! Thats what really irritates me because its trashy, cheap entertainment Mad But I do fancy the blonde from Emmerdale so...every cloud.

And how exactly could it have NOT accomplished that?

These shows are just pathetic - they're nothing more than D-list celebrity versions of Pop Idol - except this time the public don't even get a say on how crap the performances are!!

Lookout for BlondieMania - that will be around soon.
