I would prefer to call "ONE" or "one.tel" as their services have a "per call" cost of around 30p.

Wouldn't 118 192 have made more sense?

To maintain fair competition between the various providers the 118 numbers were given out randomly by OFTEL. None of them could choose or decide which one they wanted

I think there is a 118 192, no idea which company has it

Have you seen the giant post-it's on the sides of bus shelters?

Following the very successful campaigns of 118 118 and 11 88 88, it was obvious that BT's own 118 500 would have to be launched with something special

But they've left their marketing strategy a little late haven't they ? 11 88 88 and 118 118 have established them well into the public psyche by now. And 192 is retired at the end of the week isn't it ?

Yes 192 will finish Saturday night, at midnight. Or Sunday morning if you want to be precise.

How long has 118500 been going for? Has it been going for the same amount of time as 11 88 88 and 118 118?

It is very late to start the advertising but it is a very nice one - I;ve just seen the big advert now (love the van covered in them). Will they have to pay post-it a load of royalties for this advert?

I dont think that OFTEL allowed BT to advertise until other services has a chance

Yes that's true. All numbers ware randomly chosen. '118 118' were initialy given the number '118 811'. They weren't happy with that, so paid £2 million to the company that won '118 118'. They now own both numbers.
