Once M&L go there'll be nothing worth listening to on that station.
It'll be over to Xfm for good, then.

My student radio experience:
Currently in the first year, just been moved from a weekday morning show to a primetime Saturday show of double the length! Being the best student radio station in the UK* will help the CV even if I can't quite explain how I've got such a good slot!
*Officially, according to the Radio Academy and Radio 1.

Dave Pearce's Dance Anthems is the highlight of Sunday for me - it's great! I do agree that he should leave his weekday show though.

Yeah - I can't stand Dave Pearce. His 'big shaaaaat aaaaaat' style just gets on my nerves so I'd love to see the back of him.
I agree that Colin and Edith shouldn't be on from 1-3 - they're definitely popular with the kids, and also the afternoon slot is a bit of a 'cult' thing - popular with the students - which suits Scott Mills much better.
To be honest, Sara Cox is just dead wood and I very much doubt she'll return after she goes on maternity leave. Her current show is the perfect slot for Colin and Edith in my opinion.
Not sure why MediaGuardian are being so confident about Colin and Edith replacing Mark and Lard - they're even saying "the BBC announced" it, when in fact the BBC is actually saying that the replacement will be announced in March.

Radio 1 have announced their new schedule (post-Mark and Lard)
Weekdays:
1pm - Colin and Edith
3pm - Scott Mills
Saturdays:
10am - Vernon Kay
1pm - Chappers and Dave (then JK and Joel from August)
Sundays:
10am - Vernon Kay
1pm - Edith Bowman (then JK and Joel from August)
Not sure what happens if/when Coxy comes back from maternity leave (I hope it's the 'if' rather than 'when'). I think Dave Pearce might get booted out for Scott Mills.

I'm still trying to work out the thinking behind putting Scott Mills and Colin and Edith in the order they are... yes, I know double headed is being replaced by double headed, but in terms of content, surely Colin and Edith would be better in Sara Cox's slot and Scott Mills in Mark and Lard's?

Isn't it surely a case of Scott Mills being used as a filler AGAIN. Just like he filled in on the Top 40 for 5 weeks before Wes took over. Just give the lad a regular slot and announce it properly, instead of making it sound like it's only a temporary thing - he's been at the station long enough and deserves the accolades.

Well Scott
is
the 'supply DJ'!
I've got a feeling that soon after the birth of Sara's baby, we'll get an announcement that she's decided to leave Radio 1 to concentrate on her family. I'm sure we had the same with Zoe Ball. They're just letting her leave quietly without the 'Radio 1 sack Cox' headlines in the rags.
This would mean Scott stays where he is.
