Some famous ITV faces could be up for the chop, Nigel Pickard has revealed. He's spoken out saying that some of ITV's faces are "past it".
The future of Chris Tarrant, Melanie Sykes, Davina McCall, Des Lynam and Lisa Riley are all uncertain after hosting flop shows. 'Celebrities Under Pressure', 'The Vault', 'The Preimership' and 'Reborn in the USA' were all ratings flops whilst ratings for programmes such as 'Millionaire?' and 'You've Been Framed' are on the decline. Pickard wants to clear the station of faces associated with it's previous failures.
He also hinted that he was glad Cilla Black had left the network and said "Cill Black and Michael Barrymore made that decision for us". Other stars that have recently been dropped from ITV include Matt Durden Smith, Kerry McFadden, Robert Kilroy Silk and Bruce Forsyth.
I'm not sure how I feel about this. I guess Davina was totally overused and Melanie isn't very good but I don't think they should be dropped from ITV - Tony Blackburn and Tara Palmer Tomkinson need to be dropped!
This surprises me, isn't it more to do with the quality of shows they are presenting/acting in? Anyway, at least it shows a 'new broom' attitude at ITV, and they are looking forward.
Davina McCall
Her maternity leave has done her a favour. She should creep back onto our screens, and not resume the over exposure which she had before.
Ant and Dec
They'll be around for a while yet, but not as long as many people think.

Melanie Sykes
She can't present to save her life, bless her. The Vault was quite an addictive programme last year, but this year I couldn't watch due to her grating autocue-induced voice. She'll probably stick to Today with Des & Mel.
Lisa Riley
She's pretty much given up presenting to return to acting. I think she'll still get work as an actress. If it doesn't work out she'll go back to Emmerdale.
Des Lynam
He never really settled into ITV, but he's the most senior sports presenter they've got.
Pam Ferris
Rosemary and Thyme will return for another series. Not sure how long it will last after that. Even so, Pam Ferris is a popular actress and she's not going to get the axe.
Tess Daly
She's never really been a "face" of ITV. I only know of her because she took over from Cat Deeley. I don't think her presence is enough to make her a big ITV star, but I could see her doing shows such as Record Of The Year and The Vault.
Cat Deeley
I think there's only room for either Tess or Cat, and my vote goes to Tess.

He makes Millionaire seem very boring and repetitive. Drop him from Millionaire, give it a revamp with a new presenter, and if it doesn't work, axe it.
Well, Des won't be 'axed'. He'll probably leave (and retire) after Euro 2004. Why the heck are Ant and Dec on the poll list? They are ITV's most important personalites. Anyway, I was quite impressed with Nigel Pickard's speech. He was realistic and acknowledged ITV's recent mistakes

As we all know Lisa Riley won't be doing the new series of Framed anyway. And recently Tarrant agreed a new deal which will see him continue doing Millionaire for a while.

None of those are stars of ITV that were dropped. Mark Durdan Smith presented a few shows, Kerry McFadden is a regular on Loose Women but still isn't a face of ITV and Kilroy's show was dropped but he again wasn't dropped as an individual.

I hardly say those two were 'faces' either, so they pop up every now and then, that doesn't make them a face that could be axed. Who writes this stuff!

I like Cat, she's a good presenter and she looks good too. Tess hasnt really got a very big presence on ITV, apart from SMTV (which she left) and Home on their Own, i think its called that , after replacing Carol Vorderman. I've also seen her on other things like the red bull flugtag thing but she doesnt get involved in TV much. If she gets a good program then she'll be on more. Give her a chance to prove herself though.
My vote goes to Lisa Riley, she's out of place amongst the others.

Leave Pam Ferris alone meany, she's a lovely lass. She's one of my role model's coz she used to be so shy when she was younger, she couldn't go to the shop and buy some sweets. I was the same. awwwww
