What do people think of Maestro then? I'm just catching up with it from my Sky+ planner and am unsure at the moment whether it's dumbed-down classical music for the masses (The Simpson's theme tune featured in the first live studio show for example, along with other popular classical extracts which have been used in film and television) or wether it's a brilliant marriage of classics and entertainment.

Regardless, it's nice to see TC1 in use again, apparently it's booked more-or-less solidly now until Christmas, almost all of them live shows.

It's not bad actually: Clive Anderson is a good presenter, and I think the cliches introduced with the studio show (pulse music, judging panels and scores) were firmly tongue-in-cheek. I like it.

I know what you mean - I think the show wouldn't be half as good without Clive. Somehow though, for me anyway, it lacked a little atmosphere - the show seemed a touch flat. I suppose the razzmataz associated with Strictly would be wrong for such a show... Maybe as the weeks go on and the standard gets higher, things will improve. I'm personally amazed how good Goldie has turned out to be. No idea what he's doing with his hands (milking a cow? squeezing grapes?!) but he does seem to have a great sense of music...!

Just noticed that I spelt the title of the thread incorrectly! Doh!
