How the LWT Building (Kent House) was built...

Also, unused ITV Hearts ident? (May 2008)

This is either an earlier edit, or a mock (possible mock because you do see the red, white and blue LWT colours for a split second). Either way it wasn't used onscreen.

I don't see the colours myself, it's more the way it blurs into view it appears as if is the colours for a few moments. Judging by the other videos on that persons account, I would put it to be real, as the other videos on the account all seem to be master copies of the idents. For example, the following LWT Christmas ident is on his account, and it looks as if it was recorded off DVB-T from a cap card, which wasn't possible at the time: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=z8iJe8PY8po&feature=related

It just enforces that there was so much internal politics at ITV back then

They designed new idents, but then had to go through 200 different edits before they were accepted by everyone

Then many different regions didn't embrace them fully so would just put up with them or use them as little as they could (we don't use a next slide here therefore just because we've now been supplied with one, we still aren't going to use it)

It's all very similar to the 1989 idents and how they faired really

I'm pretty sure these things would've been found by Gareth Randall, as I remember him posting the thing about the building on the PPs a long time ago now. The website link for the YouTube channel is to the Ultimate LWT site too.

There was an Anglia variant which did have a coloured Anglia logo & that layout but with a different background, Asa had it on his site he used to run, along with an 2002 ident with Chris Tarrant & the ITV1 London logo

IIRC the Anglia variant you refer too was seen in a showreel posted on the design agency English Markell & Pocket's website. The company then became English & Pockett and I read somewhere that they were no more.

The endboard looked like this:

ISTR Yorkshire had a company called Ballistix, i'm not sure if it still exists, but they were pretty much responsible for all Regional idents etc that went out on GMG North, they created a few looks even a new look for Granada that never got used, and a Commonwealth Games ident for Granada aswell.

I believe the company was Oktane. The old website had lots of detail of the idents produced for the Granada Media companies. The existing one still has some of the images.

I remember seeing the old Ballistix site, but there's so many on that one, shame ITV as a Network didn't opt for these graphics and promotions, they looked rather colourful.

Ah, so they were the ones that created the package for BBC's Asian channels.
