L!VE TV is a national institution!! So glad to see it coming back - and of all the platforms on Sky Digital (at the minute!) Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, ntl!

Well you Sky lovers will be glad to hear that ntl have no plans to add this channel to their lineup anytime soon.

I think that after the way the cable co's eventually treated L!VE TV, I think it would be nice of them to stick their two corporate fingers up to them and stick to being a Sky exclusive channel. That would pi$$ ntl: and Telewest off big time Smile

But Trinity Mirror wanted to sell L!VE TV to NTL knowing they would close it down. It was losing Mirror Television too much money. However, the viewing figures were very good for cable.

Anyway, this incarnation of L!VE has nothing to do with Trinity Mirror, and therefore the previous situation with the cable companies is irrelevant.

Certainly sounds like a breath of fresh air for Sky Digital, anyone know which space on the EPG it'll occupy at launch? I assume the high 200s unless they negotiated a better position perhaps?

Does anyone have any video clips of L!VE TV?

I think this is going to be a big success when it comes back properly at the end of the month. I was watching 'Britain's Sexiest Security Videos' tonight, which is an absolute classic! Finally a TV channel with a sense of irony... Very Happy

Well, I managed to capture 10 images from L!VE TV from my aforementioned 1999 tape, but since I can't get the JPG's small enough without compressing the life out of them I'll just upload this one for now:

That cap is taken from the era when the current idents were originally shown. Look at the DOG and see how it matches the idents which are being shown on Sky.

Not that it matters. The weather forecasts were very rarely accurate.

They never did realise they were available in Northern Ireland, I think they were around for about 3-4 years. I have the Trouble at the Top episode on tape somewhere and it's quite amusing to watch how things changed from then to now.

I've got a big bunch of stuff from before the last (li)ve re-launch and the original with top quality games such as "What's in the box!" and the original Live News with News Bunny.

Top stuff!!!
