L!ve TV is now testing on Sky, at 11.426 V, under the label "y8em".

Theres still a few things they need to sort out before launch, including the adverts, which look like they're being played out from a completely worn out VHS Tape.

Programmes look okay technically, but content wise, it's what you'd expect from Live TV!

It's due to re-launch on the 28th of July.

Shame on you for not knowing what L!VE TV is!

It was a cable channel launched by The Mirror. It was part-funded by the cable companies and designed to be a marketting tool for cable TV. Janet Street Porter's L!VE TV was a 24 hour live studio based channel, but she soon left due to bad press and many disagreements with Kelvin Mackenzsie (the MD).

Kelvin took over and changed it into a TV version of The Sun. It had Topless Darts, whereby topless women would play darts, weather presented by a midgit on a trampoline so he could reach scotland, and the news was presented with a costume rabbit in the background reacting to the day's headlines.

It also had some decent daytime programming. The above caps are from Lie Detector, which was my favourite show.

It's unique by today's standards as L!VE made its own original programming instead of the various repeats channels which we now have.

Any other caps? Are they using any idents?

Well from what I've seen, the trailers are not proper trailers but old ones - there was one promo for celebrity football which featured the last incarnation of the l(!)ve tv logo before it closed, and said it was launching in September. So I wouldn't rely on the test transmission with regards to how it will be when it relaunches.

Just seen an ident (I presume it's a new one - looked new, anyway). Involved a bloke picking up a trainer with 'NOW WITH ! FACTOR' being stamped in orange on the screen at the end - looked ok actually.

Watching 'Indecent Proposals' now. Hmmm, I wonder where ITV got the idea for 'Wudja Cudja'....

Anyone know what kind of new programming the channel will have when it launches?

That rings a bell. Did it have a simular style to this:

If so, it was used in 1998.

Not sure - just saw that Baked Beans one myself and it looked quite a bit different to the trainer one. It seemed very high-definition, for starters, and generally looked pretty new. It was also in the same style as the 'coming up' bits and the 'coming soon' slide - the bottom part of the screen was purple and the top half was white. In the case of the trainer ident, the purple bit was a shelf with the shoe sitting on it and a bloke running up from behind.

I'm sure the trainer one is from the same era. Was it green?

I seem to remember a granny flying around in a rocking chair.
