Celeb Juice is another ITV2 show which is so tightly targeted that I find it puerile, but is bang on the money for their demo.

Plebs on the other hand is brilliant and crosses over the age groups, despite being targeted at their core demo.

The ofier problem is that ITV simply doesn’t have room for it, they’re low rated at the moment but the World Cup will more than make up for the weak ratings they have this week

At 39 I'm probably way outside the target demo, but I find it amusing, particularly Holly, Fearne and Gino in personas so removed from This Morning and Radio 2.

Yeah Celebrity Juice has a much wider appeal than ITV2s core demographic, I know people in their 40s and 50s who watch it.

I think that has drifted as the programme has evolved, it started as a panel show about celebrities but is now just silly games that have a wider appeal

Again for me personally anything with Holly, Fearne, Di Campo and Keith Lemon is an instant turn-off. It gives me the same pins in eyeballs feeling as I get from Love Island.

Love Island will not move to ITV. It goes against ITV's multichannel strategy to bump "up" successful ITV2 shows to the flagship channel. Otherwise we'd have had Celeb Juice and TOWIE making the crossover. There's a quote from Caroline Flack saying it is absolutely not on the agenda. It devalues ITV2 to imply that a show can outgrow it.

As for Big Brother, Ben Frow wants to get rid of it, and it's never good when a channel keeps running with a show it hates. A few years ago, they should have taken Ex On The Beach and spun it off to a Love Island style format. But that ship has sailed now.

Not to mention it failed on the main channel first time around.

The format of love island was very different on itv though - the executive producer says that the only similarity between itv's love island and itv2's love island... is the name.. everything else is different.. so really what he's saying is they aren't related at all.

And even the name for the first series was different (originally Celebrity Love Island).

Ironically the first incarnation was slaughtered by Big Brother, getting around half the viewers. It went head to head with BB on Channel 4 about three nights a week, and clashed with S4C's screening of BB every night of the week.

I've since discovered that the head of commissioning at ITV Digital was looking for Big Brother to bring it to itv2.. but Channel 5 already had it.. and so the very reason love island has stuck around is because of Channel 5.

I think if Big Brother had the rest it deserved and came back on itv2 we'd all be talking about the reboot of Big Bro.

Anyone know where this music is from (used at the start of this clip) - it seems to me to be different from the main Love Island theme? I would really appreciate it if anyone that happens to have a copy of it could upload it.
