That era of GMTV was supposed to have an entirely new theme tune, but it was ditched at the last minute so the main GMTV programme just re-used the last GMTV Today theme, and GMTV with Lorraine used an even older GMTV Today theme as a stop-gap measure until new versions were created.
First Impressions: I don't like it. I preferred the position of the chairs/ sofa in the old set where you can see the kitchen/ table in the background, having a blank wall and a screen doesn't suit it. Plus, if there a need for a sofa of that size?
Rather than deciding to have GMB and Lorraine sharing the same studio, looks like they've decided to give Lorraine a much smaller set instead. Obviously a smaller set would make things easier if they are limited with space in TC2/3.
Of course Lorraine sharing with GMB was never on the agenda, but was just based on the fact that one tweet mentioned Lorraine and Piers in the same breath, so that must have been what it meant.
Is there a new theme in this time lapse video? Sounds different to me. I think it looks awful, although will reserve judgement until tomorrow! Also looks like there could be some slight format changes... cannot understand the need of that small desk in the way the programme has been produced, most recently.
I always find the best way to judge a set is when it is not properly lit and when I am doing so from a low-resolution shot taken from the top of the studio whilst it is still being constructed.
Difficult to really get a sense of the studio from the short clip that was posted so I do think we'll have to see what it looks like when it's used for the first time tomorrow. It will be nice to see something a little bit different as it helps to keep the show fresh. The clip that was posted does raise questions about what they will use the desk for and also where the kitchen is. It's a bit of a shame that the logo doesn't appear to be changing as I've never been a particular fan of it but it will be interesting to see if they've done anything with the titles, music or graphics.
Could the desk mean a new one for Loose Women tomorrow as they share a studio? Also, the sofa area could also be used for Loose Women when they have multi guests like when they interviewed STEPS.
