As this morning has such a history with their live view, I can't see them switching to a recorded loop on monitors without the presenters or a guest revealing all, in a similar way to what occurred during Bradley Walsh's visit to GMB.

However to play devils advocate with myself (:S), they could add extra cameras to the princes wharf building and do a similar technique to the screens adjacent to the real windows, thus airing a live feed from the same same setting.

Then again, like has been said I can imagine that Phil will want to talk about their relocation.

Citing guests as one factor, which over time has proved not to be accurate, or the fact that its main presenters wanted to move to south-east/London to supposedly increase their own profiles and actually blackmailed Granada (as it was) to move to London and rent studios from LWT/The London Studios.

Careful. Madeley has good lawyers. They got him off a shoplifting charge.

Read Ray Fitzwaters book and you'll find out that, Granada pitched This Morning from Liverpool, because ITV wanted a daily 2 hour programming block programme made outside of London (and cost effective - £60,000 per show figure sticks in my mind) for the network to grab a new set of viewers which until then hadn't been tapped (housewives, students, shift workers and the unemployed), when School/Colleges programming was hived off to Channel 4.

You can assume that the move from presenting 20 yards from the River Mersey, to 20 yards from the River Thames, was because ITV Network Centre removed the juristriction that the mid-morning programming block, no longer had to come from outside London - but, didn't want to loose the steady and loyal audience This Morning had built up coming from Liverpool.

But, I'll wager that to most "normals" even crappy grainy back projection (which looks desperately unconvincing to us lot) is probably sufficient to fool them. So, TM needn't necessarily invest in anything expensive to achieve a "window" at TVC.

Did I miss the memo about using the word "normals"? And can I make the memo about not using the word "normals"?

Somebody or other here on TVF coined it a wee while back, and I've obviously subliminally decided that it's now a thing. Even though it's probably only been used once before, by that one member. I bet you're glad that I don't work for the OED...

Ha, well I don't blame anyone specifically, it's just an ugly-sounding word IMO

No Richard and Judy wanted the move. At least two producers admitted it in later years and ITV bowed to their threats. The whole "better guests"was just an excuse.

So do you really think if not for them This Morning wouldn't have moved out of the Albert Dock until the whole thing closed in 2006?

the programme was made in Liverpool initially then moved to London

That makes it sound as if it only came from Liverpool for mere weeks/months or something, rather than circa 8 years! Confused

I noticed the polka dot design on the set screens have changed now to a plain looking background, the website has been updated too:

Maybe they realized that the polka dots were a bad idea.

New titles today featuring Ross, Dan and Mark.
Also, slight change to the studio, with what looks like the old chairs/ sofa back and studio decorations. Although all these changes may just be for Christmas.

Hopefully they keep the changes, as the September sofa looked too large and looked like it wasn't placed correctly. Also, the studio now looks bigger again.
