All ITV's South Bank studios are being demolished, but new facilities for ITV Daytime will be built and they hope to return sometime in 2022.

This Morning's studios are not included in the redevelopment so the assumption would be that they'd return there, although it's not clear at the moment.

Surely if TM is not included in the development, there would be a way, somehow, to stay in studio 8? The south bank is almost part of the set itself - moving to TVC for a while would lose the uniqueness TM has

And given the current operation increasingly shares production staff and crew between ITV Daytime shows, splitting them across more sites would hardly be efficient (nor would building and running an additional gallery be cost effective - and I doubt it is practical to broadcast next to a site with major demolition and construction work taking place - though the BBC are now managing to...)

Well of course the majority of shows shot at TVC currently are post-7pm when there's unlikely to be much activity on the building site.

It will be an interesting shift for This Morning though, which has had a set with a view (of Liverpool or London) for nearly 30 years. In fact next year will see the show celebrating its 30th birthday.

Could they possibly implement the virtual window tech that VizRT does? Makes it seamless for the viewer...

Or they can just replace each window with monitors and a video feed.

Does studio 8 not have it's own gallery, does it use one from another studio?

I think for a while Studio 8 was run from another studio's gallery (Studio 7's?) because 8 wasn't HD ready. But aside from that I had been led to believed Studio 8's gallery is located within Gabriel's Wharf. I may be wrong though.

Incidentally Studio 8 has always been a poor relation technology wise. When This Morning relocated to the South Bank, much of the technology including the cameras were transported from the Albert Dock. And they were only replaced when they were able to get hand-me-downs from Studios 1 and 2 when they were upgraded.

The way This Morning is going they'll probably just have huge portraits of Phil and Holly as the backdrop. At least though with Phil around suspect they'll be a tour of what remains of TVC when they move in.

Shift TM to Media City and use a reception of one of the buildings as the new TM studio overlooking the quays and imperial war museum

Yeah because they're going to sacrifice the advantages of being in London just so they still have a live view of some water.
