Bugger. Have I missed Thursday?
Sorry, I never know what day it is - just whether I'm meant to be at work or not.

Thought you might like to know that Lorraine Heggessey will be on Five Live this morning (Friday 4 Dec) from 1100. She'll be taking questions by phone, text, and email.

Oh dear... somebody knock some sense into that bleedin' woman!!
Well it is just possible, you know, that she's right - I'm sure the new idents were thoroughly market-tested with the BBC 1 target audience, and wouldn't have been commissioned if this audience had had an adverse reaction to them.... heresy I know, but Ms Heggessey and her colleagues are TV professionals with years of experience...

Urgh she's still spouting the same nonsense about the dancers "connecting with the audience" and being "more inclusive" than the balloon, sigh.

You don't really need to have "experience in the industry" to look at a channel, and not particularly like what you see...

At the moment quite limited. Why? Do you make better and better television the longer you have been in the industry? I don't think it works like that.
I may not have the experience, but I've got ideas, which is more than some TV execs have.

Ouch indeed!
Quote:
While BBC1 controller Lorraine Heggessey has no doubts about the journalistic merits of BBC Breakfast presenter Natasha Kaplinsky - she was drafted in from Sky News a year ago to replace Sophie Raworth - the same can't be said of all licence-fee payers. One disgruntled viewer called BBC Radio 5 today to tell Heggessey: "Instead of people actually listening to the first news of the day while they are getting ready for work, they get someone who has got more make-up on than a clown." Ouch.
